We regret not having any information on the types of cameras the photographer used. They produced three different size sheet film negatives, the largest being approx 5 3/8" x 3 1/8".  Another size measures approx.       4 1/2" x  2 1/2" and  another size measures 3 1/8" x 2 1/8". This project is only just beginning, as we have approx. 350 sheet film negatives and 60 glass negatives to document, so check our site often for updates.

Gelatin dry glass plate negatives, were the first mass-produced, ready-to-use film made available to photographers. The film, or plates, were made by coating a piece of glass with an emulsion that would remain light sensitive when dry, a great leap forward over previous processes that required the film to be used before the emulsion dried. These negatives measure 5 1/4" by     3 1/8" and were each protected by an envelope, upon which notes were  sometimes made about the exposure.
